The Engineering Division reviews private development applications and issues permits, prepares studies and master plans for various aspects of the City’s infrastructure and programs, and administers construction contracts for improvements to the City’s infrastructure.

By its nature, this work crosses over into other City departments and divisions, so a great deal of coordination takes place including with planning, maintenance, parks and recreation, and others.

This Division also works to ensure private and public compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including the Federal Clean Water Act, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, and the Endangered Species Act.
