Class Description: Have fun learning to play the Ukulele. The Ukulele is easy to play even if you are an absolute beginner. You will learn the basic chords, strums and techniques of this wonderful little instrument. We will learn to play both traditional and popular tunes. Class Name: Coastside Community Orchestra Summer Strings (Ages 12+)

Class Description: Summer Strings is open for violin, viola, cello, and double bass players of all ability levels and ages. We will study music for string ensembles and orchestra music that might be used in future Coastside Community Orchestra Concerts. We will meet on alternating Wednesdays. Class Name: Ballroom Dance Summer Sampler (Ages 18+)

Instructor:  Gail Stevens

Class Description:  

Welcome to our yearly Summer Sampler of Social Ballroom Dancing, featuring the rhythm, style and basic movements of 10 different dances, one each week.  This summer there will be a slightly new format. Class instruction, focusing on the dance featured that evening, will take place during the first hour of the evening. The second hour will offer, in addition, music from the various dances we cover all year long and those from Summer Samplers of the past, as well.  During the second hour, participants are invited to dance on their own, practice and/ or ask for help. Support and tips provided from the instructor.  It will be a combination dance party/practice session-type ambience. A great way to develop, enhance and enjoy your dance repertoire! Class Name: Beginning and Intermediate Hula (Ages 18+)

Instructor: Dominique Del Chiaro

Class Description: Hula is an integrated dance of poetry, rhythm, and movement using the dancer’s body for storytelling. This graceful, sensuous hula is a dance that helps trim the waistline, strengthen the back, and improve strength, flexibility, and balance. It is a low-impact form of dance and although disciplined, it is easy to have enjoyment and success with only a few lessons. In this class you’ll learn basic steps, chants, and full hula dances. Each class builds on prior classes and all classes include some repetition and review. 

No prior experience is required for Beginning Hula. One-year prior experience and instructor permission to join Intermediate Hula.
