January 26, 2018:

During fall of 2017, much of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installation inside building’s first floor was started. The walls and first floor roofing were completed, and window frames were installed. Installation of exterior cedar siding and interior sheet rock got underway, and the installation of first floor roof decking and second floor decking began. Operable windows and stairs were installed.

In the schedule for the first quarter of 2018 will be site grading and start of construction of the bio-retention drainage system, start of installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing for the second floor, completion of second floor decking and roof water-proofing, completion of windows and exterior siding, and installation of access control system. The installation of solar panels will also start, as well as grading for the new parking lot.

Construction of the new library began on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. The new library is anticipated to be completed in summer of 2018. During construction, library services are provided at a temporary location at Shoreline Station - 225 S. Cabrillo Highway, Suite 104B, Half Moon Bay, which is open seven days a week:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 10 am - 8 pm
  • Thursday: 1 - 8 pm
  • Friday: 10 am - 6 pm
  • Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm
  • Sun: 1 - 5 pm
